Structural Engineer/Architect, Robotics focus

Job Description

GreenSight is at the forefront of innovation applying robotics to the construction industry, and are developing multiple products to autonomously perform such complex jobs as erecting buildings and repairing damage to roads and runways. These initiatives will revolutionize infrastructure development in remote, austere, and challenging environments. As part of our team, you will help us integrate robotics, AI planning, and cutting-edge material systems to create scalable, autonomous solutions for military and commercial applications.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer/Architect to lead critical components of our autonomous construction projects. You will focus on Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) structures, CFS Connections, and concrete-related construction techniques, collaborating closely with mechanical and autonomy engineers on advanced robotic end-effector development.

Qualifications / Requirements

Attributes relevant to the position include:

  • Advanced degree in Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in structural design, material integration, or construction engineering.
  • Expertise in concrete material systems, including HPC, UHPC, and geopolymer concretes, with experience in flowable fill and other rapid-deployment techniques.
  • Strong understanding of CFS structures, connections, and standards like AISI S240-15.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis tools and parametric modeling (e.g., ANSYS, Rhino/Grasshopper) and concrete modeling tools (e.g., Abaqus, COMSOL).
  • Experience in collaborative projects involving robotics, AI, or advanced material systems.
  • Project management and proposal experience/interest 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation / Benefits

Salary for this position is strongly dependent on experience and education and expected to be between $120k and $150k.

Electrical Power Engineer

We pride ourselves in wearing several functional hats.  The EE Power engineer will be an integral part of the EE team working on and developing a range of high power electronics to support inverters, converters and power management in the multi kilowatt range.  This design position requires a strong knowledge of schematic and PCB design implementing high voltage and high currents as well as sub system level design.  Additional responsibilities include manufacturing, integration and test while addressing performance requirements without sacrificing safety in the lab.  The candidate should have a big picture approach to DFM, DFT when developing design and setup strategies. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced, small team startup environment.

Qualifications / Requirements

The ideal candidate would have several of the following qualifications:

  • BS degree in electrical engineering, system engineering or related field
    Minimum of 8+ years experience (6 + Masters) with power electronics, preferably greater than 100V and 1kW or greater
  • A good understanding of electrical and firmware system interaction  (i.e. power systems, shielding, grounding, signal transmission, cabling etc)
  • A good understanding of high power system losses, thermal considerations and methods for power dissipation
  • Writing documentation while working across functional teams for both pre- and post- electrical testing activities to address requirements, functionality, system bring up development and post field performance and failures
  • Designing, procuring and implementing test setups that address safety requirements while able to functional test
  • Some experience with FW programming and debugging
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills

Responsibilities of the position are:

  • Working cross functionally and with team leads to develop system and or sub system requirements
  • Design PCBs with Altium capable of high power conversion (AC, DC, >1kWatt)
  • Hands on testing and debugging of PCB circuit boards 
  • Hands on testing of electrical systems driving results to requirements
  • Specifying, purchasing, and assembling test hardware including COTs and in-house components
  • Building and supporting cable assembly for test setups and sub system integration

  • Mechanical design with focus areas in rotating machinery, novel structural materials, and strength to weight optimization

Tasks include testing PCB assemblies and their functions to system level testing in the lab and field.  Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced, small team startup environment.

We are seeking an intellectually curious and highly capable Robotics Controls Engineer to be a high-level contributor on the development of software for our drones and other robotic systems. You will scope, plan, and execute control systems development and implementation across GreenSight's technology portfolio including air and ground robotic systems. Example projects might include developing and implementing the control system for transitioning an aerial vehicle from hovering to forward flight, sensor integration and control laws for a variable buoyancy underwater robot that can roll or swim, or deriving the Newton-Euler equations for a two armed climbing construction robot. You should be comfortable working semi-autonomously while meeting long-term goals.

Qualifications / Requirements

Attributes relevant to the position (not all required) include:

  • MS, or PhD in robotics, control systems, or related field and 5+ years professional (not internship) work experience
  • Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles
  • Competency in C or C++, Python
  • Ability to develop control laws for new and unique robot configurations
  • Simulation development using ROS, Gazebo, MuJoCo, Airsim and/or Unreal Engine
